The UK government cleared the way for construction of Orsted’s 2.4GW Hornsea 3 offshore wind project in the North Sea, after the Danish group made a last-ditch effort to save the much-delayed development with a £15m ($20m) bird protection plan that was labelled a “gamble” by one conservation charity.
