Orsted's plans to build one of the world’s largest offshore wind farms off eastern England suffered yet another delay when the UK government pushed a final consent decision on the 2.4GW Hornsea 3 project back to the end of the year.

UK energy secretary Alok Sharma said only that he was “minded” to approve Hornsea 3, dashing hopes of a final all-clear on Wednesday for the project, which was originally due for a consent verdict as long ago as October 2019.
