The sector has been in hiatus amid fears that previous plans for the world’s first renewable-heat incentive (RHI) would be axed by the new coalition.
Instead, the government announced that a higher-than-expected pot of money would be set aside “to shift renewable heat from a fringe industry firmly into the mainstream”.
The incentive is due to begin in June — two months later than the previously expected start date.
