EDC in March named Vestas aspreferred supplier for the initial 86MW project in Ilocos Norte, which is due in operation in 2014.
Now EDC president Richard Tantoco iskeen to secure approvals to expand the project to 150MW as soon as possible, and has alreadyinformed Vestas of the plan, says the Philippines-based Business Mirror.
“The team is working now with Vestas for additional turbines,” it quotes Tantoco saying.
EDC is the country's largest producer of geothermalenergy.
A Vestas official said: “We only comment on firm and unconditionalorders.”
