The quartet of deals – with Bermingham Foundation Solutions (BFS), Walters Group, McKeil Marine and the Hamilton Port Authority (HPA) – follows a turbine supply agreement Windstream signed with Siemens earlier this month.
The new agreements add to the project’s momentum and pile further pressure on Ontario’s provincial government to lift a moratorium on offshore development it imposed in early 2011.
Windstream, which holds the only offshore wind-power feed-in-tariff contract in Ontario, expects to create 1,900 jobs in the region during the first five years of construction of the wind farm.
