The supervisory board gave the go-ahead for investment of more than DKr11bn ($1.63bn) in the two projects, subject to ministerial approval.

Energinet.dk executive vice-president and chief technology officer Torben Glar Nielsen says: “The future green electricity market will be much more cross-border, and with new connections Danish power stations and wind turbine owners will be able to sell more electricity and command higher prices, by better exploiting wind power and exporting more in windier periods.”
