That is up from 27.8% of power consumption in 2014 as shown in figures from renewable energy federation BEE, and 32.5% during the first half of 2015.
"Independent of the exact share at the end of the year it becomes clear that renewable energies are gaining in importance in the German energy mix," BDEW head Hildegard Müller says.
"At the same time the pressure to act for the integration of regenerative energies into the whole electricity generating system increases."
