UK offshore wind pacesetter Dong Energy said it will make a “major contribution” to the running costs of six lifeboat stations in areas where it is operating or planning projects. The Danish energy group will help support Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) rescue vessels for an initial two years at Barrow, Clacton-on-Sea, Humber, New Brighton, Ramsgate and Wells. The RNLI relies almost entirely on charitable donations and other private support to fund its activities.
