A blade broke off a General Electric turbine at DTE Energy’s 64MW Sigel wind farm in Michigan last week, leaving the project down a turbine while the incident is investigated. The blade broke under high-wind conditions, according to press reports. The Sigel wind farm is one of three that make up DTE’s 110MW Thumb Wind Park.

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has extended a service deal for six wind parks in Spain of an unnamed Spanish wind project developer that have a combined capacity of 268MW for the remainder of their expected lifetime.
