Infinis told its investors it will seek a judicial review of the policy change, teaming up with biomass generator Drax for the legal action which claims insufficient notice was given of the move.

“The companies ask the court to consider a reasonable and proportionate notice period for withdrawal of such renewable support,” it said in a regulatory filing.

The announcement that renewable power would no longer be exempt from the CCL came in the UK budget in early July.
