Wind industry calls for level playing field in China

The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and local wind sector associations have called on the Chinese government to create a level playing field “on which international players can compete with domestic manufacturers and developers" in China.

GWEC, the Chinese Wind Energy Industries Association (CREIA) and the Chinese Wind Energy Association (CWEA) presented a memorandum to senior Chinese policy makers during the China Wind Power conference in Beijing, aimed at spurring wind power development in China.

The memorandum calls for the introduction of ambitious national targets for wind energy development, improved transmission networks and grid access, as well as fairer conditions for foreign wind developers and turbine manufacturers.
