According to the council's latest projections, wind will reach a record 3.7GW in 2018. It will be second only to large hydro (which is expected to add 15GW by 2020) as the government tries to guarantee supply security.
The 7GW due to be built by 2020 has already been contracted at tenders, but, according to CNPE, only 145MW of new wind is expected to be constructed in 2019.
