That is up from 28.5% in the first half of 2014 and compares to 27.8% for all of last year.
"With roughly 33% the renewables share in the electricity sector is as high as ever, and that's very good news for climate protection and the Energiewende (energy transition)," BEE managing director Hermann Falk said.
The rapid rise is based above all on strong onshore wind expansion, the BEE states, adding that Germany's states have helped with the provision of areas for wind parks.
