That question is: what happens to Scottish green power if there is a ‘yes’ vote in next year’s referendum on independence?
Needless to say this is an awkward one for the Yes campaign. It certainly sounds intuitive that the Brits would not pay subsidies without a fraternal motive, while there are numerous reasons to be sceptical of the stock Scottish Nationalist reply that this would be overcome by the need to meet European targets.
