Vestas wins Australian order for 420MW Macarthur wind farm

Wind giant Vestas has landed its biggest-ever contract in Australia, with a deal to deliver 140 turbines to the country’s largest wind farm.

The A$1bn ($890m) Macarthur wind farm, located in the western district of Victoria state, will use Vestas’ new V112-3.0MW turbines.

“With this order, we have now released the new V112-3.0 MW turbine for sale for both onshore and offshore,” says Finn Strøm Madsen, president of Vestas technology R&D.

Vestas has yet to secure supply contracts for offshore projects using the new V112-3.0
