The turbines will be installed at the Qiulu wind farm near Putian, Fujian province, with delivery scheduled for the third quarter of 2012.
Vestas says the order marks the debut of the V90-2.0MW model in the province, claiming that it delivers high output under low-wind conditions and is durable enough to withstand occasional strong gusts.
After studying conditions at the Qiulu site, Vestas decided to equip the turbines with power backup for the yaw system.
