Engineers discovered in 2009 that transition pieces on which the turbines sit have shifted slightly – in a repeat of the so-called “grouting problem” that has affected several early-phase European offshore wind farms.
Vestas is responsible for carrying out the repairs because the 30 3MW turbines are still within their warranty period.
Esjberg based SubCPartner is due to use Whitstable Harbour in Kent as its base for the work.
