Engineers discovered in 2009 that transition pieces on which the turbines sit have shifted slightly – in a repeat of the so-called “grouting problem” that has affected several early-phase European offshore wind farms.

Vestas is responsible for carrying out the repairs because the 30 3MW turbines are still within their warranty period.
