Vestas supplied V90-3.0MW turbines to a number of the phases within Alta Wind, which sprawls to nearly 1GW in the Mojave Desert. General Electric also supplied some phases.
Vestas has pinned down 15-year service contract extensions for Alta II, III, IV and V – comprising 190 of the Danish turbine maker’s machines.
NRG Yield acquired Alta Wind in 2014 from the developer Terra-Gen Power.
