BNDES said that the July 2015 deadline for setting up a nacelle assembly plant was met in full, while Vestas added that the turbine’s content also includes blades from locally-based Aeris Energy, while Switzerland's ABB will supply Brazilian-made generators.
The assembly plant, located in the northeastern state of Ceará, will allow Vestas' machine to reach 70% of local content in hub and nacelle manufacturing, complying with BNDES's Finame II programme as agreed with the OEM in mid-2014.
