The Danish wind turbine giant, which reports second-quarter earnings Wednesday, cut about 90 positions last week at its Colorado tower factory in response to "a general market slowdown" it says is caused in part by ongoing uncertainty over the future of the primary US incentive for wind.

The job cuts at the Vestas nacelles plant, part of a manufacturing complex in Brighton, near Denver, reduce the workforce there to 200 and represent about 1% of the company's North American staff.
