Vestas CEO Anders Runevad told Recharge that Mareña – due to be built in the wind-rich Tehuantepec Isthmus region of the Mexican state of Oaxaca – “from our point of view is in our order backlog, which means it’s our judgement that the project will go ahead”.
Dutch pension fund PGGM has pulled its €250m ($285m) investment from the consortium planning to build Mareña, which has suffered repeated delays due to highly-active local opposition to the wind farm.
