Vestas and GE take 2014 laurels as FTI predicts 250GW of growth

Denmark's Vestas took last year's OEM crown and a GE model was the most-delivered turbine, said FTI Consulting as it delivered the latest verdict on the sector in 2014 and predicted 250GW will be added by the end of 2019.

The research group had already named Vestas as 2014’s turbine OEM market-leader when it published preliminary figures in February.

FTI confirmed that assessment with the final version of its Global Wind Market Update – Demand & Supply 2014 study, which gives the Danish OEM 11.6% of the market, ahead of Siemens in second with 9.5%, and puts Goldwind a shade ahead of GE with 9% and 8.7%
