In May the Crown Estate granted extensions at five offshore wind projects as a way of smoothing out the build-out process over the next decade.
Many observers predicted a lull for offshore wind companies between the completion Round 2 projects, such as the London Array, and the kick off Round 3 projects, forcing the industry to shrivel or decamp to other European countries such as Germany.
