Vattenfall – which is preparing to sell its German lignite operations – saw underlying operating profits at its Wind Business Area grow by SKr103m to SKr705m in the first three months, compared to the first quarter of 2015.

The company’s turbines produced 1.5TWh in the quarter, up from a year-earlier 1.4TWh.

The growth came as a string of 2015-commissioned projects began contributing to Vattenfall’s wind output, among them the Dan Tysk and Kentish Flats Extension offshore projects in Germany and the UK respectively.
