According to Accenture's Digitally Enabled Grid study, utility executives around the world have over the last year become significantly more concerned about the impact of distributed sources on their revenues, as new generators like PV become increasingly competitive without the need for subsidies.
Its latest survey shows 61% of executives saying they expect “significant or moderate revenue reductions” as a result of distributed generation from sources such as PV, compared to 43% last year.
