The US installed 4.85GW of new wind capacity in 2014, according to new figures from AWEA, whose tally comes in slightly higher than Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s recent 4.7GW estimate.
Either way, that means that last year the US wind industry more than quadrupled its dismal performance in 2013, when it installed less than 1.1GW.
But the pace of installations is still well off the industry's record performance of 2012, when more than 13.1GW
