Innergex, the Canadian renewables IPP, believes the phase-down of the production tax credit (PTC) will make it more competitive in the US wind market, and is considering acquiring a US developer to take advantage of the transitioning market.
With the amount of near-term development opportunities declining in Ontario and Québec, Montréal-based Innergex, which owns nearly 1GW of purely renewables capacity, has turned to new markets for growth, mostly outside of Canada.
