The 378-46 vote also renewed more than 50 other tax breaks and fiscal incentives through this year, an estimated $42bn in lost revenue for the Treasury.
Lawmakers voting against the measure were almost evenly divided between Republicans, which have a majority in the chamber, and Democrats.
Focus now shifts to the Senate, where majority Democrats have waning hopes they can pass a two-year extension through 2015 for almost 60 tax breaks.
