Ex-Im – which provides loans to benefit US exports around the world – signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) to “explore options” for the finance.
IREDA said the loans would cover imported US equipment and up to 30% local content where appropriate.
The Indian agency would use the US backing to offer a new credit facility to developers based on 18-year, fixed interest terms.
