The construction activity, revealed in the American Wind Energy Association's (AWEA) second quarter market report, extends to 30 states.
These include Texas, which has 1.5GW by itself; Kansas and California, each with more than 1GW; and Oklahoma, Iowa and Michigan, which are all building 500MW or more. The last time wind construction neared these levels was in 2008.
During the second quarter, the industry brought 1.2GW
