This summer, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will issue a call for interest and proposed sale notice (PSN) for the 122,400 acre (495.3sq km) Kitty Hawk wind energy area facing North Carolina’s coast near its border with Virginia.
Interested developers will have a final opportunity to present their qualifications to BOEM. If competitive interest exists to lease the tract, then the agency plans to issue a final sale notice (FSN) early next year and hold an auction in the spring.
