ZPMC, a Chinese maker of steel structures, notified the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Tuesday that Fluor is seeking £250m ($406m) in damages in the UK’s High Court related to the hapless Greater Gabbard.

Fluor, which has 40,000 employees globally, has not issued a statement on the lawsuit. However, a spokesman for the company confirmed the legal action.

In 2008 SSE awarded the engineering, procurement and construction contract for Greater Gabbard to Fluor, despite the fact that the Texas-based company had no direct experience in the offshore wind sector at the time.
