“The key challenge facing the development of a vibrant supply chain in Scotland, and indeed the rest of the UK, is the uncertainty which still exists with the Contracts for Difference [CfD] process,” he told the Global Offshore Wind conference.
“This uncertainty delays investment and risks our ability to compete with the established supply chain on the continent.”
Urging the government in London to provide more details of its long-term energy plans, to give confidence to developers and investors, he highlighted the importance of providing a long-term vision for the renewables industry.
