UK to set up offfshore developer-government forum

The forum, which will be chaired by Energy and Climate Change Secretary Ed Miliband is being modelled on similar bodies set up to help develop the North Sea oil and gas industry in the 1970s and 80s. It will give developers direct, regular contact with the government in order to address issues of the UK supply chain. “The forum will put timings on the commercial opportunities that will arise, look at what is necessary to drive down prices and secure the UK supply chain,” said Rhodes.
