During the pre-qualification process – open until the end of the month – applicants will attempt to register as "eligible generators" to bid for a share of up to £300m ($486m) of annual support in the first allocation round.
Projects of 300MW or larger will also need a Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC)-approved “local supply chain plan” to access CfDs, which replace the outgoing Renewables Obligation (RO) mechanism.
