The so-called British Wind alliance will start campaigning for onshore wind at the UK’s party political conferences this autumn, calling for an open, non-partisan fact based debate on British energy in the run up to next year’s general election.

The partnership comprises Airvolution, Banks Group, Fred Olsen Renewables, Good Energy, Infinergy, Infinis, Renewable Energy Generation and RES.

The alliance points out that onshore wind enjoys 70% support among British voters and is on course to provide around 10% of the country’s power requirements.
