Andy Paine, head of UK offshore wind for the Swedish group, backed up a new industry study that claims the sector is on course to meet its 2020 cost-reduction goals, and said more was possible beyond that date.

“We’re confident we’ll get to a cost of below £100/MWh ($143/MWh) by 2020 and at some point in the mid-2020s we’ll be at a parity of generation cost with other more conventional technologies,” Paine told Recharge.
