The initial phase in consortium Forewind's £7bn ($10.7bn) Dogger Bank mega-development will consist of two wind farms, A and B, consisting of — for the time being — 400 6MW turbines, eight substations and two converter platforms, all linked up with 2,000km of interarray lines and another 300km of transmission cables.

About eight terawatt hours a year would be supplied from the giant project, enough for two million homes.
