UK ends RO scheme early for onshore wind, offers 'grace periods'

The Department of Energy and Climate  Change (DECC) said the RO would be closed to new onshore wind from 1 April 2016, 12 months earlier than planned.

DECC added: “Up to 5.2GW of onshore wind capacity could be eligible for grace periods which the government is minded to offer to projects that already have planning consent, a grid connection offer and acceptance, as well as evidence of land rights.”
