Ming Yang said its wind and solar investment arm has already secured approval from China’s government for 400MW, with another 600MW in the planning system.
The company expects some of the developments to act as demonstrators for its next generation turbines but gave few further details, including the extent any the solar element.
The New York-listed wind turbine OEM signalled its ambitions in solar at the end of 2014, when it said it will link with group sister-company RedSolar for hybrid offerings.
