A leaked memo outlining US President-elect Donald Trump’s likely energy agenda suggests his focus will be on dismantling key federal regulations put in place by the current administration that limit fossil fuel development, and those to fight the effects of climate change.
The policies are said to include increasing oil and natural gas leasing on public lands, lifting a moratorium on coal leasing there, and working to streamline and expedite construction of crude oil pipeline infrastructure, according to the 14-point memo written by Thomas Pyle, head of Trump’s transition team for the Department of Energy.
