As director of sustainability at Masdar, the Abu Dhabi-based clean energy initiative, Nawal Al-Hosany holds a long list of ever-evolving responsibilities.
In addition to her day-to-day roles, Al-Hosany – a trained architect and expert in sustainable design – also serves as an adjunct professor at the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, and since 2011 has been director of the Zayed Future Energy Prize.
Launched in 2008, the $4m prize is awarded each year to clean-energy innovators and thought leaders across five categories.
