The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is weighing an application that Sharyland filed on 26 February to add a second 345kV circuit on its existing transmission structures there that form a loop between four of its westernmost substations in the region.

PUC commissioners are expected to approve the project.

Meanwhile, Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), operator of the state’s main grid, gave a green light for Sharyland’s plan to install synchronous condenser facilities at two substations on that loop.
