Those facilities would supply liquefied natural gas for export.
Investors backing at least seven liquefaction plants are seeking approval for construction from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in Washington, DC. Two have formally filed their proposals with FERC and five others are in so-called “pre-filing” process.
Together they would utilize 10.7 bcf per day at proposed nameplate capacity, according to FERC filings.
