The "super cable", which will run a length of 2-4km at an urban site, would be a key test of a concept that has the potential to revolutionise the transmission sector by opening up lines that could carry one thousand times more power than current copper cables without electricity seepage.
"With this project, we are meeting society’s demand to install more high-voltage lines underground,” says TenneT chief executive Mel Kroon.
