West-Rijn is the largest consented windfarm in the Netherlands, and the first offshore windfarm to be consented by the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management for seven years.
The windfarm will have 72 turbines and be located 40 kilometres off the the Dutch North Sea, or roughly 90 kilometres from Rotterdam. SSE will pursue the project through its renewables development division, Airtricity.
