sPower dives into wind market with Utah acquisition

sPower bought a 62.1MW wind project in its home state of Utah, set to enter construction this summer and begin generating electricity by the end of this year.

The unnamed project has a 20-year PPA with a unit of Berkshire Hathaway-owned PacifiCorp.

Asked by Recharge which project it had acquired, sPower declined to specify.

However, it seems likely to be Latigo wind project, developed by the Utah-based Wasatch Wind, the Utah-based developer whose momentum appears to have slowed in recent years.
