The plant is set to employ 275 people and supply equipment capable of producing 7.5 gigawatts (GW) of clean electricity each year for the US renewables market.
Ingeteam currently holds between 12% to 15% of the global market for wind power components and expects to expand that share by opening its new plant, slated to start production in January 2011.
The new facility will strengthen the firm's current US presence, which includes a management office in Mequon, Wisconsin, that provides operations and maintenance services for US wind farms.
