Tim Leljedal, a spokesman for the holding company, based in Atlanta, tells Recharge that the original application for two lease sites near Tybee Island in the Atlantic Ocean was filed in April 2011 with the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). The second was submitted in July. Both are pending with BOEM.
A spokeswoman says BOEM is not in a position yet to make contents of either application public, which is why they are not on its website.
