Theresignation was reported in a statement by Sinovel to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
Wei, 58,has also reportedly stepped down as a company director, relinquishing all of his responsibilities.
Sinovel officials were not available to comment onthe matter when contacted by Recharge.
Chinese-languagemedia sources report that Sinovel’s board has chosen fellow director Liu Zhengqi to replace Wei as president.
Wei, aformer executive at the Shanghai Stock Exchange, took over as president ofSinovel in March.
